Chosen Solution Hello iFixit members! A friend of mine came with his iPhone 7 Plus to get his screen replaced, by mistake I managed to break the front camera/earpice/proximity sensor module. I purchased one online for an online store known by me with quality parts, problem fixed (the issue was that the earpice was not working, everything else was good tough). Now the issue is that the front camera works only in native camera app and on Retrica, everything else (Instagram/Snapchat etc etc even Facetime video) simply crashes when opens front camera....

Chosen Solution So my Iphone 7 that i dropped, I planned to repair it, however the bottom half of the screen was completely shattered, i’m skeptical in ordering a replacement screen as the home button has a rip in the cable, any ideas if this would work still? That home button won’t work. You’ll need to either: Find a reputable phone repair shop that does micro-soldering / board repairs to repair the broken home button....

Chosen Solution So was using my iphone 7 normaly sudenly it shut down and got stuck on dfu mode. Tried restor in itunes on two different laptops gives me error 9 on 3uTools gives me error -1. Im not sure is it nand or something else!!?? depending on how bad the device was damaged ive heard its due to the nand chips becoming desoldered from the mobo. i would first try multiple different cables or even a charge port just plugged into the board to see if it will restore....

Chosen Solution Hi, I am in the process of replacing a screen and a battery on an iPhone 7. I have installed both (but not applied either adhesive yet) and it will not turn on… I have plugged it in and it has been charging for about 10 minutes but still nothing… I tried plugging it into my mac but got no response… I then tried to reset the phone (holding volume and power buttons) and it came up on itunes saying that there is a problem with this phone and that it needs to be restored to fix it… Shall I get my friend’s icloud details and do so?...

Chosen Solution I have an iPhone X with a camera focusing issue. The problem likely appeared after a water incident (heavy rain). Simply put: The camera does not focus in 1x modeThe camera sometimes focuses in 2x modeThe camera focuses well in the portrait mode I did all the standard set of software checks (reboot, upgrade, restore, etc.) I replaced the camera module with a spare part. The problem still persists....

Chosen Solution Man, I’ve tried buying just the glass but trust me, it’s a mess! It envolves gluing and separation of the display and glass which is too delicated, and you got to have a bunch of tools and UV curing machines and stuff. You actually can do it, but it’s not even a little bit easy. I bought it and had to buy the whole LCD display again. (and I’m an engineer, trust me, it doesn’t worth $35)....

Chosen Solution would it be possible to use a newer battery for the MacBook Air 13" Early 2014 model in the older MacBook Air 13" Mid 2011? Chosen Solution my I pod went died and its locked out and said try again in 23000000 minates what do I do that’s 43 years joery, the very first thing you want to try is what apple suggest. Follow the instructions on here. If that does not work, try this. YOU WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA. Hope you got it backed up. Go into DFU Mode and restore. DFU Mode Connect your iPod to your computer Turn your iPod Off Press and hold the power button for 3 Seconds While continuing to hold the Power button, press the home button as well for 10 seconds Keep holding down the home button, release the power button for another 10 seconds iTunes should now detect the iPod in recovery mode, press OK, and restore your iPod....

Chosen Solution I ordered a new screen for my one plus 6. I followed all the steps to replace the screen (without frame). It is powering on just fine however, the touch of my display does not seem to be working. Did I mess up somewhere or is the new screen faulty? Update (09/21/2019) After looking over the new display. There seems to be a bump underneath the digitizer. As well as what seems to be a small tab of tape directly put on it....

Chosen Solution Hi, I have a macbook pro 15" (ends 2013) and I have changed the speaker and trackpad, with a ifixit guide. Before the change fans were ok and speed of the pc too. After, I am experiencing that fans are at maximum speed all time and mac is really slow doing a simple click.I have reviewed all the connections and seemed ok. Chosen Solution I have a 1997 jeep cherokee sport. It was over -heating due to a cracked radiator..So I replaced the radiator and still overheating. I than took off the thermostate and now I have antifreeze coming form the exhaust…HELP what is this… In best case you have just blown head gasket… In worst cracked engine block or head….. Look at you’re oil cap ware you put oil in and If you see like a frothy look to it you probably have a bad head gasket you can also look at the dipstick and if its higher than what its supposed to be you probably have a head gasket problem....

Chosen Solution I’m from India I recently purchased a US version series 4 Apple Watch with a cracked display. I had a new display assembly put on, but the technician didn’t transfer the NFC chip from old display assembly. My watch is working now but in future if I unpair my watch and pair it again or am I stuck? Because I don’t have old screen. In India we don’t have Apple Pay support yet so I don’t need it....

Chosen Solution hey guys, I own a nitro 5 gtx1060 16GB. I bought it last year and have been experiencing fps drops and my performance is affected. So i read online and found out that other nitro 5 users are also encountering the same issue and many managed to solve the overheating issue just by reapplying the thermal paste with something of better quality. So I took apart my laptop and as i was attempting to unscrew the heatsink, i realised that the screws were too tight and my screwdrivers could not unscrew it ( i was using the normal screwdriver, not those electrical drills ones )....

Chosen Solution The Keurig leaks water during the pump operation, I have replace water resivoir thinking it was o rings. Water leak continued. I took keurig apart and is seems to have a back leak from the water pump, when water is pumped in heat resivoir some water reverses direction and back leaks out of bottom of keurig, at the point of water filter. I am unsure of which parts I should change....

Chosen Solution Hi, So i recently bought an Imac G5 from a market, because i like that kinda stuff. The seller told me there was no hard drive in it, so i had to install my own and install Mac OS on it myself. I thought that that could not be that hard. I had just taken a Hard drive out of a Dead laptop (The hard drive still worked, i tested it) and installed it into the Mac (I did not format the Hard drive yet, there are still Windows files on it, i dont know if that is the problem....
