Chosen Solution Purchased my new battery less than a year ago from Ifixit. days ago, the computer won’t close, by last night the key board was bowing, scared the battery was going to explode. What do I do? Waiting to hear from ifixit…. I definitely wouldn’t try to charge it anymore. contact ifixit customer support about the issue, I’m not sure how long their batteries are warrantied for but they would be able to assist you with it....

Chosen Solution I ordered a replacement screen / lcd / glass and attempted to install it today. After installing the screen only lights up. I tried re testing the old one and it worked fine but there was no battery and it got stuck in a boot cycle when plugged in. After putting the battery back in, turning it on and try the original screen it didn’t work. Just like the replacement only the backlight works....

Chosen Solution I changed the battery on my iPhone 5S about a week or two ago because the original one was bulging. Note that when I changed it, I noticed that although I had ordered the exact battery for my phone, the connector wire was a little longer than the original. I was able to plug it in anyway and everything seemed fine, I don’t know if it matters but I thought I’d mention it....

Chosen Solution iPhone 6 Plus replaced loudspeaker stop working after update to iOS 9.3.4. New loudspeaker from iFixit. After replacement speaker works perfecty. FaceTime calling, music, etc. And IPhone runs on iOS 9.3.3. But after update to IOS 9.3.4 speaker stopped working. Several rebooting and total content and setting erase didn’t help. I can’t think of a reason why a speaker replacement would affect an iOS update. I would think of it as a coincidence and move on to other causes....

Chosen Solution I tried searching high and low for an answer with no luck. My question is about iPhone antenna bands. From what I’ve learned, they allow signals to enter and exit iPhone casing. What I couldn’t find is whether they “transfer” anything themselves. Why I’m asking is because of the classic situation of dropping the phone and the fall left a dent in upper right antenna band. So, will having antenna band with dent effect iPhone’s functionality (or signal strength) in any way or is the damage just purely cosmetic?...

Chosen Solution I have a 5th generation iPod, don’t think its touch screen. It wouldn’t take charge on cable, but on dock it shows a faint apple symbol. Does this mean it is charging? I called various places and said it may be the battery or charge port. I took it to get repaired and was told they could not change charge port as it was saudered to Motherbroad. Please help!...

Chosen Solution So my dsi’s screen stopped working one day, I thought I’d have a look inside to see if there were any obvious things I could fix. Unfortunately the tabs on the P10 and P18 ribbon cable slots came loose and so it can’t be put together. I was wondering if I could still get my precious pictures from it, even when it is in this state. Thanks. If you have them saved to an SD Card you can pull that out and use a SD Card to USB adapter to put them on your computer....

Chosen Solution I have a Note 3 N9005 which was working perfectly fine until few days back it’s display started showing this pattern (as shown in photo). It gets normal, once I restart the phone. So guys I want to know whether it is a hardware issue or is it some problem with my ROM? PS. I’m running it on official Lollipop ROM flashed using Odin, but not updated OTA....

In order to change the volume(f10/f11/f12), brightness(f5/f6/f7), access sleep mode (f1),enable/disable WIFI (f2) I have to press the fn button first and I no longer want to do this. IIRC one of my model X260 is also tedious, same way to remove the keyboard, but possible....

Chosen Solution 2 weeks ago I replaced the battery on my macbook pro with an ifixit one. The install went good, however the sticky coating seems to have worn off already on both sides. The batteries at the sides are loose and rattle if I shake the laptop. I opened it up and firmly pressed down which kept them stuck for about 24 hours, then they fall down again… How can I keep them stuck for good?...

Chosen Solution I upgraded the RAM using tools and adhesive strips from this site. A few days later, the display separated from the chassis and torn some wires away from the display connector in the process. I have a few questions: What did I likely do wrong when I replaced the display? The strips are still attached to the chassis. Was I supposed to heat or significantly pressurize the display?Can the ribbon cable be repaired or replaced in the display?...
