Chosen Solution Hello. My Imac (27-inch, Late 2012) has the original memory (2x4GB Elpida) in slots 1 and 2. When trying to install in slots 1+3, 1+4, 2+3, 2+4 it beeps three times and the Mac does not start. Replacing the original memory in slots 1+2 with new memory (2x8GB) is successful. Can not add memory to slots 3 and 4 (old memory or new). Please advise where to look for the problem....
Chosen Solution Hows it going everybody. My IMac mid 2011 (27 inch) has been experiencing random fan noises/lines shooting directly down the center. Today when I try power on, it goes to the routine the apple loading screen then goes to a white screen - and thats it. I tried a PRAM / SMC reset. It will not boot past the white screen. I purchased this used in 2019 I’m unfamiliar with the history....

Chosen Solution As i was replacing display on Ipad 6th gen , I was trying to remove tape covering “Home Button” connection on logic board, I ripped everything out. I do have a spare home button although it cant be installed on the logic board. Do I need to swap out entire board ? Or can the connector be fixed? The spare button should work except for touch id. If the connection on the board itself is damaged they you probably need a new board or have someone with board level repair experience fix it....

I plugged it in and shone a light on the screen but it was dim and it was stuck on the apple logo and the backlight won’t turn on. @jimmysofat6864 so it is safe to assume that you have not yet taken care of the water damage at all....

It has taken physical damage ( dropping it, sitting on it, etc. ) buy a new one. It will take a fortune to replace the internal components now....
Chosen Solution Looking on pointers on how to fix this problem. The fan powers up for a split second, then turns off. Pressing the 4 speed buttons on the control panel gives no audible response. Only the power button responds. Thanks Hi, How old is the fan? According to the user guide there is a 5 year manufacturer’s warranty on the fan. If the fan is not that old, contact the manufacturer as per the warranty statement in the user guide....

Chosen Solution Maybe someone had a similar experience and can help. Initially I had problems with the display just going dead (like the power suddenly cut off and display got fuzzy then black). What usually happened afterwards was that the apple logo would appear and the only way to get back into the home screen was doing a soft reset. These crashes got more frequent as I tried using the Safari app, running simple web surfing ....
Chosen Solution I dropped my phone in water and immediately took steps to dry it, after a small amount of time, I powered it back on and everything seemed to work except the power button. I can still turn it on because of the home button but it only turns off on time-out. Looking for a solution to this problem. Any help is appreciated. Chosen Solution So I was repairing my MacBook Retina 2016 yesterday and after I changed the screen, I plugged in the keyboard and trackpad cable and started it up and everything worked fine until after a few minutes, the trackpad stopped responding along with the keyboard. The trackpad still gave a haptic click when I pressed it but the cursor wouldn’t move. The keyboard backlight was also on but command+tab did nothing and a screen prompted that no keyboard as well as mouse were present and searched for an external mouse....
Chosen Solution Hi there, I was trying to replace the upper case of my Mac Pro (late 2017) following some youtube tutorial. Unfortunately, when I arrived to the point of taking the battery off, I used the back of a tweezer that damaged the black film of the batteries. I am not sure if I could put them back and use them or not. ifix does not allow shipping batteries outside of the US these days....

Chosen Solution Took car to mechanic he gave it a tune up and checked lines for leaks then said i probably smelled oil that dripped on the exhaust manifold. the next day i could still smell gas inside! You may have a filler neck issue. If the issue is more pronounced when you have a full tank and the check engine light is on - that’s likely what’s going on. The fuel filler neck is a part that is often overlooked until it’s gone bad, or a check engine light prevents the car from passing an emissions inspection....
Chosen Solution I have replaced the HDD of my iMac by a 1T WD Blue SSD, but the computer is not recognizing the SSD. I booted from a live linux CD and the drive is not showing up on for instance lsblk. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is the problem with the Fixed III SSDs in SATA II Macs like this - they do not work! You need a drive with a SATA II mode, or a Fixed II SSD....
