Chosen Solution
I have a 4th generation 20gb iPod (mono) that is displaying the folder error icon. So I have replaced the logic board. I have also replaced the original drive with a iFlash-ATA1 adapter and a Samsung 128gb SD. After all that, the iPod still displays the folder error and my computer does not see the iPod when it is connected. Any ideas about what I should/can do next? Thanks
@sneatonscott your computer most likely will not recognize it since you have no firmware/OS on the iPod drive. I suggest you try it with a regular HDD first and then see what it tells you.
