I’m buying this iPhone 8 off of this person that I’ve bought from before on eBay and he said when he plugs the phone in all it does is the screen flashes the dead battery symbol. What do you think the problem is?
Hi Christopher, If the iPhone only displays the dead battery symbol after approx 45mins to an hour of charging this indicates one of 2 potential issues. Battery fault - health degradation / constantly discharging even when powered so you may just need another battery. Board issue - There could be an underlying board fault on the phone with resulting in insufficient power/ charge reaching the battery, there is a charging ic chip located on the board next to the battery connector. It could be that is has just failed, or it was damaged from a previous repair, this would require micro soldering.
